K-ZONE EXPERIENCE ![]() "The K-Zone provides highly athletic workout programs that are specifically tailored to each individuals personal physical assessments. My first day at the academy; areas of weakness in my functional strength were evaluated and corrective exercises were provided to help me fix these weaknesses. I was then given a workout program that was specifically designed to improve my physical capabilities on the field.
The K Zone's high intensity, core targeted workouts improved my athleticism immediately. I noticed greater core strength, speed, agility, mobility, and gained overall muscle with a month of hard work at the K-Zone Academy. The K Zone has also given me a new insight of the true bio mechanics of throwing a baseball. Video technology, deceleration drills, weighted balls, and the concept of staying connected helped me understand and fine-tune my pitching mechanics. The K Zone offers workout programs and mechanical evaluations that many professional baseball teams have yet to discover. Every hour spent with Dan at the K-Zone has directly benefited to gained velocity and mechanical efficiency on the mound." Chris Perry, RHP, A St. Louis Cardinals |
• High speed video analysis of your pitching delivery from multiple angles
• Throw harder and throw more strikes • The key to staying healthy so you can pitch more and dominant the competition • The secret to making the hitter look silly with your change up "Dan Kopitzke of the K-ZONE ACADEMY, continues to develop safer, more effective ways to build health, durability, velocity and command into your throws. Utilizing the latest research and studies, their arm care protocols are second to none. Throwing hard has never been more important, so maintaining your health so that you can work on your velocity is paramount. K-Zone is also pioneering brain based learning for your command. So, not only will you be able to throw harder with less stress, but with better command. Fewer throws means an even healthier arm."
High Speed Video - your pitching motion will be analyzed and evaluated to determine the course of action to get you throwing harder, more accurate and safely.
What to ExpectVELOCITY and how to increase it - We use a multi-faceted approach that addresses power development, strength, mobility, neuromuscular sequencing, mechanics, mindset, nutrition, rest, recovery and more.
ARM HEALTH - you will learn what it means to have a healthy and durable arm and how to create one. We have reviewed all of the studies and research available and will provide you with the facts about arm injuries and how to protect yourself against them. OFF-SPEED PITCHES - We will teach you the proper way to throw all of your secondary pitches and how to develop them into weapons. Having and commanding these are paramount to success on the mound...we'll show you how. EV (EFFECTIVE VELOCITY) - Having great stuff is important, but if you don't know how to use ever succeed. There is a real science to understanding what to throw, where and when to throw it. We have been helping pitchers dominate on all levels with this knowledge. You won't get this anywhere else. BRAIN BASED LEARNING - We are pioneering the use of Brain training to increase the rate at which pitchers develop their skills. Real motor learning takes place in the Brain. If you want to have a repeatable delivery, you need to make the changes in your brain first. We have developed a one of kind training methodology that exists only at the K-Zone. MENTAL TRAINING - Learn how to become mentally tough and perform your best when your team needs you. Most camps skip this essential skill, we show you how to harness its power. Like it or not, velocity matters. One of the first things that coaches and scouts at the next level look for is velocity. If you don't have it, you don't get a second look. We all know that there is far more to pitching than throwing hard. but in order to be considered at the next level, you must throw hard.
They don't care if you can throw strikes if you don't throw hard. Your current coach (parents and teammates for that matter) just want you to throw strikes. They don't care how hard you throw, because if you can't throw strikes often enough you can't help the team win on the mound. This is a difficult situation for you to be in: throw strikes in order to pitch today, throw hard in order to pitch tomorrow. Do I have to choose? Which one do I choose? Too often, a player will sacrifice his post high school career to be effective today without even knowing it. We can show you how to develop the velocity you need to play at the next level while still being effective for your team today. Effective Velocity (click images to enlarge)
![]() "I have been working out at the K-Zone Academy for 4.5 years now. It has been highly effective in elevating my skills from a regular high school pitcher to an ACC pitcher. Through intense, explosive, dynamic full-body work outs and proper motivation I have been able to increase my max velocity by 24 mph in the 4.5 years. Dan’s high energy, positive personality combined with his extensive knowledge of the biomechanics involved in baseball make the K-Zone an easy place to get better. Between the positive atmosphere and the innovative work outs the K-Zone is a perfect fit for me to pursue my dreams of playing in the MLB. "
Will Gilbert, NCSU PITCHER ![]() The K-Zone has really helped me to develop into a Division I college baseball player. Dan Kopitzke is extremely knowledgable in the physical as well as the mental aspects of the game of baseball. He has prepared me by constantly challenging me to always strive to improve and push myself to be the best I can be. His conditioning programs not only strengthen the whole body, but they also help with the prevention of injuries. Coach Dan's energy and desire to help athletes is second to none. I can't thank Coach Dan enough for what he has done for me."
Andrew Wantz, UNCG Coach Dan Kopitzke has worked several of Ron Wolforth’s Elite Pitchers Boot Camps. This is what Ron thinks of the coaches that work his camps
"I am highly selective about who I ask to join me in coaching the Elite Pitchers Boot camp.. some of the most sought-after teachers and coaches in the game today… teachers who are positive and knowledgeable... I only want coaches who have a deep understanding of the ranch systems, coaches who understand that training is about the individual… coaches who KNOW how to get results and sincerely believe players can go to the next level vs. simply judging who can and can’t." Our Approach is Revolutionary
We won’t force anything upon the athlete. We give you freedom to develop what works best for you. It is not a "one size fits all" system. The way you think and go about your training will be challenged in an environment which focuses on doing what’s right, not who’s right. "Dan Kopitzke and the K-Zone in Apex NC is in the top 5% of all that I see in the USA in pitching instruction. Bottom line....Dan 'gets it'. He understands the connection between athleticism, mechanical efficiency, mobility/flexibility, functional & skill specific strength, scapular health and strength balance...and nutrition/rest/recovery...and how it relates to enhancing or improving the performance of those in his charge. ![]() Special Guest Speaker / Instructor Scott Foxhall, NCSU Pitching Coach. Scott Foxhall, NCSU pitching coach, will be speaking about what it takes to be a college pitcher. From what does a college coach look for in a pitcher to what the demands are of a D1 college program. If you have any desire to pitch in college, you will want to hear what Scott has to say. It's also a great opportunity to meet him and get his input on what you need to work on to pitch at the college level and beyond. He has brought a well developed program to NC state from Auburn where his staff was in the top 25 the last 4 years. He's also seen 29 of his pitchers drafted with 7 of them going in the first round. We are excited to have Scott speak at our bootcamp.
